![]() Lucas Chess doesn't seem to allow you to play friends. has popups and annoys you to subscribe, and the UI is not at all intuitive. And none of the free programs I've downloaded are intuitive enough for him to navigate and use. That's all fine and good, and I have no problem trying to navigate these programs.īut I would also like to play chess against my 80-year old grandfather online. I'm starting to learn chess, and so I downloaded a couple programs that I am learning to use and navigate. He can learn new programs, but popups and having to click through menus just to play a simple game of chess increase the liklihood that he'll get stuck at some point and won't be able to start, continue, or finish a game. My grandfather checks email, browses youtube, searches google, and plays with google earth. The key is that it must have a clean and intuitive user interface. I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a good free chess program that one could use to play against friends online on your PC.
